NASA Aerospace Scholars

The NASA Aerospace Scholars, together with its partners, have designed several projects to inspire students to pursue degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by experiencing space exploration through an on-line curriculum and interacting with scientist and engineers that are involved in aviation and space exploration. The program began in Texas with a partnership between NASA’s Johnson Space Center (JSC) and the State of Texas. With its success, Texas High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS), has served as the model for other projects in Texas and across the nation.  Partnerships with NASA have evolved with several states replicating the high school project.  The projects target students who are interested in STEM studies. While each project is unique to its state, they all include the same on-line curriculum where students engage in STEM topics related to Space Exploration. Upon completion of these lessons, the top performing students are invited to a unique summer experience at a NASA center or other location where they have the opportunity to work in teams on a simulated human space exploration mission.  For a full listing of the programs go to the State and National program tabs.
